It seems everyone’s looking for the secret to weight loss these days. But in actual fact, there is no secret; the answer is right before your eyes.
Can you guess what it is? Well, I’m going to tell you…
It’s simply this: use more energy than you take in!
You’re probably saying, “But, isn’t that just too simplistic?” Actually, no it isn’t!
Let me explain:
#1 Eat less food
Let’s be clear, no one is doomed to be fat! If that’s that you believe, you need to rethink your attitude. Having thoughts like that is really like a self-fulfilling prophecy – you think you won’t be successful in losing weight, and therefore you won’t!
It’s important to realise that you are responsible for what you eat, how much, and how often. So, if you’re weight is currently stable, you will lose weight by simply eating fewer calories each day.
Start by cutting back 500 calories per day and see if you notice a difference by the end of the week. Eating healthy, whole foods most of the time also has the added bonus of helping your feel more energetic, which in turn makes exercising easier.
#2 Increase your movement
Think about your daily schedule, what areas could you add more movement? Gym membership isn’t a necessary part of weight loss, but if you’re serious about it, you need to include some form of cardio exercise that gets your heart pumping, and also a form of weight training for muscle building.
If exercise is new to you, simply adding some form of increased movement into your daily life will be beneficial, and you’ll soon begin to notice that you feel fitter and have more energy as a result.
So, what’s the secret of weight loss? Simply put it’s:
Eat less + Move more = Weight loss + More energy
